Cueillettes & Archรฉtypes - Raccolte di discarti e archetipi / ViaFarini Milan

Ludivine Jalabert, founder of Moure / Studio has been part of a residency in ViaFarini, in Milan, Italy. Les Cueillettes (pickings in English, or raccolte in Italian) whose starting point is the hand selection of scraps and trash from workshops and construction sites, is the testimony of a place and a craft activity, here Milan and its surroundings.
Her goal is to create a moment of consciousness, a metaphor made of archetypes and symbolizing both the fragility of our ecosystem, and that of our current way of life.

You will find a small leaflet of the process and some pictures of the Open Studio that took place in Milan in December 2022.

Some limited edition posters that were exhibited in the Archivio del Vappore in Milan, by ViaFarini are still available here.

I would like to find

preciousness in the reuse of discarded, abandoned materials.

My appetite for materials and the richness of forms that craftsmanship takes prompt me to want to know better the territory in which things are made and where natural materials are ex- ploited. In my experience in interior architecture and as a designer, I have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time on construction sites and in workshops.

I like to work with noble materials. But this research takes place in a context where these materials are becoming rare and expen- sive both for humans and the environment.
